Our industry is struggling with providing quality personnel, this is a well know fact. It is vital we maintain our continual professional development by learning new skills, researching new industry developments, updating our first aid qualifications and providing our employers with these updates to show you care about your work. Monitor the news and stay up to date with current affairs and global security issues. 'Attention to detail'

As professional operators we must assess and refine our skills on a regular basis. Network with other professionals and discuss courses, training options and the useability of that skillset. Take on continual professional development not only for the education but to maintain a working focus.
Pass on your knowledge to those that would benefit, take time to reflect on your work / life balance and make changes where required. |

The Importance of Behavioural Detection in Security |
Observations of suspect individuals and their behaviours may lead to identifying life threatening situations early enough to provide time to react. A terrorist may experience strong emotions prior to carrying out an attack, which will usually be visible in their body language and physical responses. Certain behaviours may be visible and these emotional responses to their intentions can be picked up by operatives with the correct training.
